Snapshots of Antarctica
So far away from civilization and people are still addicted to the blue tube. I though am addicted to the blue ice across the everlasting seas.
The ocean deep blue
Pancakes of frosty white
Adélie swimming through
The morning early tide.
Its cold and windy as the sea froths and spumes
The cold gray clouds covering the whole seen
Ice covered peaks show faintly through
The clouds, mists and spray as the wind howls true.
Molten rock and icy steel meat at the gates of life
The glacial breeze and seals stench fight for dominance tonight
The waxing moon and waning sun dance in the twilight
The gray fog and early ice obscuring the morning tide
Explorers sailed wild lands to tame
Some to parish and some to fame
Icy deaths and heroic feats
Stories told and tears weep
